Favorite Kit-Set(s) ?

Postby Smoke n Water » Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:31 pm

Greetings all,

I'm new to the forum, as of tonight. Found you guys recently while researching mini kit sets.

Can you give me your opinion on what your favorite kit set manufacturer is? I'm planning to begin building a mini jet soon.

Please include links to their site(s), if applicable.

I ordered plans from Thomas Hewitt in NZ . I'm going to begin with that, but I'm leaning toward getting another kit from wattscraft, for a second boat.

Thanks for your help.

Yamaha, Sea Doo and Kawasaki all work just fine. Most everyone I know here in AK have used Yamaha's as they convert very easy to a boat and there is a Yamaha shop in every major town. 3 hard seasons on mine and not one mechanical issue.

Sorry, I thought it said favorite ski, as in donor wave runner for a boat. There are at least 8 Cope boats here in AK that I know about mine included. Could not be more happy as I have beat the shit out of this little boat and it keeps on truckin.

Hi ya,

Thomas H seems like a really great guy with a great product, but look at the LVB & Wattscraft hulls to notice they have really nice lines to them. My favorite are the LVB hulls for their looks alone. Not sure what performance difference there is between the manufacturers.

They are pretty much all the same. Like 14 degree Delta with entirely too many angles that make up the sides. Just the way they like it in NZ. I think watts played with a radius bottom. In a Mini I would think Radius would work well. I would avoid anything less than 14 degree in a mini.
