I have a friend in the machine/fab industry get me a quote.
1/2" 48x120" recycled $345
1/2" 60x120" recycled $432
Id would have to pickup at the plastic distributor about 120 miles from my house.
Does that seem reasonable?

Once the bottom of the hull is done Ill have to measure to see if I can get by with the 48 wide but i suspect the 60 will be needed.

Im still waiting on the Aluminum from Fab shop. Latest update is all parts are cut now just waiting for them to be formed.
I was bored and build a rack to build the boat on.

Im still waiting on the metal from fab shop. Im on the list but no idea when it will be done.

Also waiting on my intake from Jamie at MiniJetBoatBuilders.com
Paid Sept 17th and was told 3 weeks lead time. Have not heard anything since 2 days after I paid.

Kind of frustrated at this point.

Yeah no doubt frustrating for sure. Now is the time you want to be sourcing out all your other parts. Teleflex cables. Through hull fittings. Seals .things like that. Nothing like a $3 part holding up your build.

Made some progress over the weekend.
Some of the curves were a PITA to get lined up.
The 1/4" hull was a batttle getting pinched together, I ended up using the webbing from a 3" wide ratchet strap with a knot in it and a large 5 foot pry bar and made a tourniquet.

No I have had a few friends show up to help hold parts while I tack them in place.
Im starting to wonder if the fab shop messed up something, since it took them 2 months to form the metal.
Eitherway the bottom, transom, chines, sides, and gunnels are in place and I have been working on finish welding as I have time.
I think Im going to wait on the stringers until I have the intake to make my life easier.[/quote]No I have had a few friends show up to help hold parts while I tack them in place.

But atleast now I can get a measurement on steering cable, seats and such.

The Tig welding is the most time consuming part but Im happy to be making progress.

I've been following your build and understand much of your concerns of forging forward with everyone's encouragement. Though I haven't started a hull yet, still in progress to get cut and bent but finished disassembly of a Honda Aquatrax for donor engine and pump that had 82 hours on it. Like you, Im trying to figure out elevations of drive shaft, pitch of intake and if there is a target height the water level should be when boat is at rest in the water? Anyway, keep up the good work!

Hull is now ready to water test. Unfortunately the Ice just came in on my local lake so looks like I will be filling it with water to check for leaks.
Had some issues with bow and foredeck alignment, but some trimming and time it ended up ok.
Windshield and dash are tacked inplace.
Wating for seat to come it to verify angle of dash.

Jamie called sunday night to let me know my intake setup was shipping out this week.

I was able to leak test the boat this weekend, and verify my welds.

Intake came in this morning. Jamie is out of the office until february, and I have a question about mounting intake.
Can anyone who has seen his boats or used his intake advise if the pump adapter flange should be inside or outside the boat?
In the future I may want to upgrade to a Kawi Ultra 300 or 310R power plant so I would like to be able to change flange if neccessary.
I will not weld flange to to boat but I assume it is meant to be on the outside of the boat and clamp the transom between the flange and intake housing.

I will get some more pictures uploaded, currently the site says the file size is to big and I dont have time to downsize.

Boat is nearly done just have to mount the battery, extend front wire harness, and build the swim deck. I will try to get more pictures up here.
I have to downsize every photo so it becomes a pain.

Above is a video of it running in the pond and my buddys farm.
Last sunday I was able to get it on my lake. Top speed was 50mph.
Im very happy with it just need to figure out some sort of sponson like the jetski to keep the back end stable during high speed turns.

Any turning chines on bottom or a bit nose heavy and boat cuts loose?

It runs just like a jetski. If you turn hard at full throttle the back end will wash out. It is very predictable but still limits high speed cornering.
THere are no chines other than what is in the bottom hull from minijet boat plans.
With only me in the boat it is slightly heavy on the front.
I built the boat with the fuel cells as close to center as possible.
In hind sight it may have been better to mount tanks as far to the back as possible.

I will be carrying a spare battery and an anchors so those will be stored at the transom.

Im thinking some 1/4" plate dropping down 1 to 2 inches below side of boat maybe 2 or 3 feet long.
Should not effect crossing logs or beaching since they would be higher than suction intake but would be wet when turning.
I will also make them with slots so height can be adjusted
