These are as good as a pump can get. they come stock with all the good things you have to add to the 772 Hamilton to make them ALMOST as good.

And the customization begins from a hull designed for a 200optimax to a 2 stage oil burner, and one can always wish for a bigger shop, I'll have to pull it in and out or chop the tongue to be able to work in there with the door closed

Dude, i just reread this entire post.

The work you've put in sure makes me feel bad about how lazy I am!! Was thinkin how ive only had my 22' since october and already want a shallow runner, and remembered you saying you were selling your Viper for this project so i checked this thread out again.

Amazing fab work, and props to you for putting the time in on research and finding parts and making them!

Would love to come see it, but I know that generally impedes any work getting done haha Finish er up and meet on the water??

Cheers dude

Hey Dawb
I'll probably wait to meet up on the river.

Here is the way the front of the trailer was configured when I got it and it made the shop feel very cozy and added to a unnecessarily large turning radius. So it got a by of a make over (removed 30"s)and the atrocious wiring from carnai got fixed up too.

Here is the pump sittin on the 3/4" tunnel top/ pump protector, I'll just have to add a 1/4" piece for the pump flange to give me my full thickness of 1" to have a flush Ketchum stomp grate.

Is that clear vinyl tube a bypass to purge air from the top of the impeller?

My understanding is some hulls have a air pocket in front of the intake and it is suppose to help eliminate the air bubble and cavititation

Is that a stock flex plate for your engine. I have an ahl I am working on that is from an automatic. The flex plate doesn't have the ring gear it is on the torque converter. I was thinking about getting a flywheel but I am still researching.

Also, what turbo are you using?

I dropped the pump in to boat for a test fit of the pump so I can start to imagine how I'm going to finish the hull and incorporate reverse deflection plates

You may need to extend your control shafts a bit for clearance of the transom set back. Put a bit of rubber under your mounts as well as isolate the bolts with rubber washers, My diesel install with those same mounts rattled the boat so hard at idle I was afraid I might crack a weld. Bump the throttle to about 900 and it settled down a bunch and was smooth under load. As far as reverse deflectors, why? Trim your bash plate to end just under the nozzle pivot and taper the sides so the reverse water does not hit the sides. I started with mine flush to the bottom, found after a bit of test that it worked better about an inch above the bottom of boat as it tended to porpose with it flush. Check out nz jet boat site as there is lots of conversation about this issue on their site.

I have two new shafts for extending the controls I just have to machine the flat spots and re use factory flat bars, or buy new ones, the bash guard will get trimmed once I get my stomp grate from the boarder just left it large for now

I could of swapped out the 2 stage control shafts for 3 stage shafts if I would have known you were going to push the pump back. We also stock HD stomp grates for the 2 or 3 stage and HJ212 pumps .

I didn't even think to ask that when I was ordering I was more concerned with the impellers and nozzle size

did you have to off set it that far just to handle the massive torque of that diesel :Laugh1:
:bash: :Drink1:
:chicken:
looking real good sir I like the out backed pump!! to make room and give your pump some good trim and steering leverage.

I have a new synthetic driveline I will unveil one day, it looks much like a pool noodle but don't be fooled it loads up the pump while the turbo spools up then springs into action. And now let's me set the motor almost anywhere I want.
