We had a laptop cord coming out from the high deck so it would not latch is what I am talking about at the beginning of the video.

Looks like you are getting 5K-RPM out of the motor/pump on over 40-PSI of boost :o Is your pyro temp acceptable? I hope so, because that is pretty fantastic and it sounds good too!

I am glad to see you getting this thing out on the water and getting closer to completing this project. I have really enjoyed following your progress.

With the data logging my max rpm showed is 4471, so I am not sure if the first video was attached to any of the data logging graphs. But even at 4471 that leaves me around 1000rpm to play with and still be on plane.

Ideally I would like to max out around 30psi of boost which seemed to be plenty when we played with the hand actuator. I would also like to keep the egt down towards 1000•F . So we will see what the tuner comes back with.

Howdy. Great to see your project come to life. Absolutely beautiful fabrication work.

I played in the TDI performance world for a while.
Here is a link to my build if your interested http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=268968
Fully built 2.0L TDI PD, at it's peak with the aggressively ported head, colt cam, R783 injectors, GTD2260vk. I made 240+ WHP and 440'#. At the crank it was probably over 300hp.

In my experience some of your numbers seem a bit off. No grief towards you, it can be very challenging to get accurate information on these engines. Especially the PD's

The GTB series turbos have a sustained manufacturer EGT rating of 1920*F, measured pre-turbo of course. People tend to call bs on this cause "the pistons will melt."
The pistons will not melt they are oil cooled through channels cast into the piston. I tended to keep mine around 1600*F on the high side.

The GTB2260vk turbo is very safe at 35psi. momentary spikes to 40-45psi are acceptable.

A drive pressure gauge is a wonderful tuning tool. Don't need it all the time, but very handy for helping your tuner know whats going on.

PD engines do not like RPM. I would say 4k is a safe top end. 4500 for shorter max throttle situations.
The more RPM the faster they will eat camshafts.

The older VE engines with injection pumps can take the RPM's

Hope this is useful.Keep up the great work. Looking forward to hearing how it is once the tuning gets sorted.

It’s incredible how life changes.
I am going to get this boat finished up this winter and I am leaning towards selling this sweet little boat. PM me if you could be interested and I would be interested in a few messages about what people think it would be worth.
Thanks
Taylor

I haven’t actually listed it,
I was just putting out some feelers, I have a few more things I want to finish before selling but are you interested?

I got the main flooring all wrapped up today, just have to re install the tank and bulkhead tomorrow. Two more flooring pieces under the high deck to complete and all of the vinyl is done.
