lovetheedge wrote:Very nice boat. I have been in one of those type of boats in Sitka Alaska fishing with a guide. Many of those types of boats up there, nearly every guide had a boat like that. I think you will really enjoy that boat for long trips or even day trips out in the ocean. With outboard motors that really opens up the deck area. When you get your kicker, add a tr1 gold to operate the steering of kicker.

A TR1 will not work with my setup. I have a second helm and the kicker is controlled there. It is tied into the main motors. I have a regular Simrad autopilot installed for my main motors. So the kicker will operate off of that when trolling as well as the second helm.

I need to tow it more to see if I need to add airbags. It wasn't on the overloads. I had airbags on my last truck and though that they made it ride rougher.

Yes, the guys at Townsend Marine did all the testing and diagnostics with the engines at the same time. I hope ice out comes early this year so I can get it back out there.

Install Timbren bump stops , they only sag 1” under full load and better then airbags. I have them on my F 150 and work great towing the Wallet Crusher .

I second timbrens. They come with a 1inch extra insert depending on how heavy your usual tow is so you can really set it up to ride right and best of all they won't affect your usual ride when your empty. No issues with popping or needing to fill with air and their about 300 for the rears... mine have been going strong put the same set on my 3rd truck now they've gotta be 15 years old take about an hour to change over.

I put Timbrens on my old GMC. I really like how they handle my heavy camper. My springs must be worn out because when empty my truck is just barely sitting on the timbrens making the empty ride horrendous. My 1T dually dodge has a better ride...

I am thinking that if sag really is a problem, I will go with a weight distributing hitch instead of suspension enhancements.

The snow is gone and I am almost done with all my rigging, so I should find out soon.

Thanks for the heads up Dennis. I have been looking at the regs and cant see where anything has changed. Where did you hear that things were closed? We are headed to the Nanaimo/Campbell River area this year

That area sucks for salmon. Go up north and fish Telegraph Cove on the East side of island or go west and fish between Cape Scott and winter Harbor. The chinooks are deep so take down riggers. I have 1106 Scotty's electric on my boat. Good Luck. Great running up around smith inlet also.

We may do that, we are meeting some other folks in the area and then have some time on our own where we want to head further north and explore.
