Flushing salt water

I have a Northriver with 350 Kodiak and Hamilton 212 pump once in awhile I take it in the ocean but more often in the bay and river.After I have it out I stop by boat launch 15 miles up river and run it.I want to know how long I should run it .Do they have a thermostat in block?.I wash boat down at home with the salt remover is there anything else I should do.

It has antifreeze running through the motor so the thermostat opening has nothing to do with flushing salt water. As for how long to run it that's hard to say. The pump and raw water side of the cooling system just is the only thing that see's salt. I wouldn't thing it would take that long to flush.
