460 rebuild

Postby talltimber » Sun Apr 05, 2020 2:15 pm

Well i got the motor back from the machine shop. I was just going to have them build out and install the aluminum heads. Turns out I had 3 cam lobes going flat so we did total rebuild. Did rings, bearings, new cam, new oil pump, petronics marine distributor, aluminum intake and a new Holly 750 Marine QFT carb. Broke in the cam ect on the dyno then ran several power pulls cam out with 384HP @ 3700rpms and 478ft lbs of torque @ 3500 rpms little over 400 ft lbs @ 1650rpms. now we'll see if the kodiak pump will hold that. I do have a good set of E6TE-DA heads and a D00E-9425C SCJ intake for sale>
