Go check out a sprint boat forum. They are running multistage pumps with lots of horsepower.

There is only a few of us on this site who's pump is absorbing more than 500hp. My boat makes 570hp at 3000rpm but it doesn't have a three stage. The Raptor 575 makes 510hp peak which most never will see.

I don't know if this will be helpful, but I'm running a 350/345 hp ZZ3 in my sprint boat with a 2 stage with 19 and 22 pitch impellers right now and I'm hitting around 6000 rpm's. I'm sure I could use more impeller, probably 22, 24 or 22, 27 so I might try it if I can sell my 19 to offset the cost. Mine is just a river boat, I don't race it so top end isn't all that important.

I had a 480 hp LS motor in my old boat. The problem with the pump seems to be high revving high hp motors. I ran that exact combo from KEM with a 92mm insert in my scott nozzle and it could still blow out the pump and after 5 hours after impeller rebuilds was pretty bad. I'd recommend either a different pump or a custom set of impellers from Schlagel Marine (Scott Jet), Claude at Exweld (Flo-Pro) or brand x . If you get them from one of those guys, you'll probably get a guarantee that they will work...which is exactly what I would want when dropping 2K on impellers. I wouldn't waste my time with KEM impellers, they're not very durable or thick.

I had Scott impellers in my boat when it was just a two stage, those are some thick durable impellers. I was going to try out the Flo Pro impellers before I sold my last boat. They're supposedly super durable as well.

It seems the NZ guys have been running high revving engines in the multi stage pumps for a long time while here in the states Big blocks were preferred.

Personally, I'd swap that pump out. Go find an american turbine 312. They like high hp and if you want more river trash handling ability, upgrade it to the 203......

....

....

Or put a Scott 912 or 852 in and never look back!

My 575 runs my pump to the rev limiter. But that being said it will hold until 46 or so before it starts blowing out. It hooks great but could be better considering the power pushing it. I can ease in the throttle and it will push to 5400 at 58mph. The boat has a wicked porpose at that speed. I have more work to do but all the companies that build impellers for this pump have different ideas on what will work. So i am taking ideas buying differnt impellers and trying them.
After the motor swap the boat has come alive and done more that thought ppssible. Plus the fuel savings vs the old 400hp 460 that sat in the 575 place.

22' wooly classic wide body. Don't know rpm info yet . My motor is waiting for spring. It's a 475hp built 383. It used to have 300hp 5.7 that struggled a little. It currently has a #1 Kodiak overlap, #2,#2 Kodiak and 92mm. The #2's are 22 degree I believe. It would run pretty decent empty, about 3700rpm would be 36mph. I bought a Flo pro 27, and will buy a Flo pro overlap closer to spring.
I'm hoping to get my cruise down to 3200 max rpm with the Flo pro overlap and a 27 #3 impeller.. but who knows, I could be totally wasting my time lol.

I talked to schlagel marine about a situation similar to this, I have a 500 ci mopar making close to 600hp at around 5200-5300 rpm I am thinking about putting in front of my kodiak three stage in a duckworth magnum. he prescribed a 100mm nozzle with a Scott bullet lead impellor and Scott 24, 24 or 24, 27 degree stack behind the bullet depending on what top rpm I wanted to turn. He said in might make the pump noisier and was at the limits of the kodiak but would work. I haven't tried it yet. :Drink: :Drink1: :chicken:
