Hudson build with 'suicide doors' (windows)

(Notice the hinge) Interesting... wonder what would be the pros and cons of this ?? Also, this build has the lexan wrap on the roof.

I’m guessing one of the pros would be for passengers going in and out (to set an anchor for example) so they don’t have to walk around the open door while on the water. Probably less risk of tripping over it and going overboard. I hope my deckhands don’t see this. They’ll be requesting that modification for sure. I actually think that’s a pretty great idea.

Makes me wish I could quit my day job, go to work for a builder, and share ideas on how to make better boats.

I had a "feature" added on my boat that is still used on their production boats today. I've never been compensated for it.

I really dig the lexan on the roof, especially where it meets the windshield. I've been pondering ideas like this for making a hard top on my boat and forming the lexan around a frame that increases visibility. Any one ever seen more boats like this? So far my you tube research hasn't picked up any formed lexan on boats.

Its not a first. The lexan will soon start to crack and check as it is under tension from being formed around the curve lines. Its only about 1/8 in thick.Looks cool though.

You can form MR 10 tinted over a mold if you want. We use to do Motor cycle fairing and covers for Boeing in Oregon. The Boeing stuff was 1/2"

One of The main reasons for a roof is protection from the sun, it will get hot under that.

I had my old Hudson built in 08’ with a lexan top and it survived multiple trips to the dam in not so nice flows and never cracked! Maybe the new owner had had troubles since I sold it. As far as the heat goes... it wasn’t any hotter with lexan versus any other hard or soft top I’ve ever owned! It was cool to look up at the stars at night in the canyon while laying in bed.

Cool, you're probably tired of me saying it, but that Hudson is about the best looking thing there is.

I'm even tired of me saying it.
