The orange boat is mine. .
It is 23.5 foot long. 6'6" bottom. 8'10" beam.
In running a raptor 575 and a A.T. 231 pump... boat weighs right at 6000 Wit a full tank of fuel. .

They're all about 23'. Black = LSA/241, white = LSA/212, red = Raptor575/AT231.

But remember... the same is possible (though less certain) with a 21' 350 212-2.4. Or a 460 Berkeley-inducer.

Sounds like my setup, cept the wuss behind the controls. But I guess that's what happens when the first time you go though some tough waters on a ride along you watch another guy sink your exact same boat...

It was in graveyard back in Feb on the pre run for Walters ferry to swan falls wwa run. Everyone was fine. It wasn't a full sink since the first rock split it open and the 2nd or 3rd set of rocks kept it from going all the way under. So not a full "sink" but a Honda gas pump wouldn't float it so it was pretty bad. Out of respect I never posted pics. But it was a 21 ft storm just like mine only a few years newer. So yeah, it put the fear in me. And of course the next weekend I hit a gravel bar on step in swan falls res just to shake my confidence a bit more. I'm sure when I have more than 30 hrs of butt in the seat time I'll get use to some of it lol.

Yea I think I'm more afraid of the financial pain than anything lol. I'm not actually that worried about injury, although I know it can happen easily, but that's probably because I'm young and fearless(stupid). Guess those moments are when your glad your paid up on your insurance premium!

http://www.indmar.com/mobile/engines/indmar.aspx

They are all 6.2L. the 400, 440, 575 is hp. The 575 is supercharged.

Brett --- yes, I agree that most of the risk is $ (and time). Rarely do injuries occur.

When I first got into this sport, I was terrified just looking at my boat in the driveway. After a while this wasn't so terrifying anymore, so I connected it to my truck...

I guess I was brave when I bought my boat, then everyone told me there are two kinds of jet boat owners, those who have and those who will sink a boat. I just rolled my eyes until I saw it first-hand. I love to go for a ride with you sometime viking!

I think that goes more like "There are Two kinds of Jet Boaters, Those who have hit a rock and Those who will". (This I believe to be true) This is the first time I have heard the "will sink a boat" (This I believe to be not true.) :Drink:

I'd much rather boat in big water than skinny water like graveyard. It's not called graveyard because it never ate a boat.
