Have you ever met chariotdriver? He is really old.

j/k... he is a stellar human, loves the river like mad, fantastic boat pilot who has made mistakes like all of us, and whom I would guess is younger than my grumpy old ass. And his kid Alex is a chip.

"We will not issue citations, and we will not arrest people"

- Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich, gives the go - ahead for Spokane to put the wheels back on the wagon. There is always a 'however' and that is if a business license is halted, there is nothing he can do. Which leads to the next 'however'

"6th District Rep Jenny Graham gave her word that she will fight for any business in the event that their license is revoked by the state for operating during the shutdown."

This helps to clarify where the situation stands here in Spokane county"

Our idiotic governor may make things difficult, but we are done asking permission from said governor. Sometimes public servants (Ozzie / Jenny) actually do just that, serve the public... and I appreciate them.

Time to pour the coal and get this train 'a - steamin'

Got this email from recreation.gov regarding my June 19th Hells canyon reservation.

As we work through an unpredictable and rapidly changing situation, health and safety is our number one priority. We are committed to continuing support for our communities and fulfilling our mission as we all work together to minimize the impacts and spread of COVID-19.
A closure order is currently in place for all developed recreation sites on the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The Forest is developing a transition plan to re-open closed sites, however locations, dates and services have not yet been finalized. Your launch reservation is not affected at this time; however, if the closure is continued, reservations may be cancelled. Local managers are continually monitoring and assessing the situation and will manage resources as needed to protect public health throughout the epidemic.
If the closure continued and your reservation is cancelled, all prepaid fees will be automatically refunded and you will be eligible for a “roll-over” of your launch date for the 2021 season.
We understand that this is an unprecedented situation, and that people can be affected in many ways; as essential personnel, as “at-risk” individuals, or those heeding our nation’s call to stay at home.
We also understand that these are stressful times for everyone and if you wish to cancel your reservation prior to an extension of the closure, you will also be eligible for a “roll-over” for your launch date for 2021.
Eligible dates include any primary season launch on the Wild and Scenic Snake River of Hells Canyon National Recreation Area (May 22-September 10, 2020). Only reservations that were reserved prior to May 8 are eligible for the rollover option.
After submitting a cancellation, you should see a reservation cancellation confirmation email and a receipt for the recreation fee refund soon after it’s processed. Pre-paid recreation fees will be automatically refunded; however, the $6 reservation fee will not if cancelled by the trip leader.
Once you receive your cancellation email, you may request a roll-over spot for the 2021 season. To do this for the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, forward your cancellation email to: SM.FS.HCNRA@usda.gov with a request to hold that launch date for you in 2021. Be sure to include your name and a daytime phone number. Roll-overs will be for the same date only; no exceptions.
We hope this helps reduce some worry during these unprecedented times.
If you would like to read the original news release or the special order, please visit the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest website.
Please continue to visit our web page for status updates.
Wishing you good health.

Isn't that like saying that smoking won't kill you? Or the fall won't hurt?
And it's a pretty fine line between "he died of pneumonia brought on by covid" and "he died from covid". I'm sure that it is an important difference to you but to me I think that he died from the covid.
