Crestliner 1870 Jet ??????

Been trying to decide between these two boats for use here on the Delaware river

One being the G3 1860 tunnel with a Yamaha 115/90 jet
Boat is 85'" wide with a 60 inch bottom

Crestliner is the 1870 tunnel with a Mercury Optimax 115/80 jet.

not finding many reviews on the new 1870 but thinking it would allow more fishing room as well as run a little skinnier water due to the extra width .

would def love some input from anyone who possibly has run these two boats

My first skiff was a 12ft Crestliner, years ago they were built well however the hull was not that thick. The problem with thin hulls is that it only takes one hit and you are done.

I had the 1860 CCJ when they would only put the 90 on it. With the 115 it would be a great improvement on power. I liked the boat but would think you'd like it even more with the wider vesion. I swore mine was .125 and see that G3 is also .100 like the crestliner now? That would be a deal breaker for me at this point. After 4-5 years you could see distortion between crossmembers uderneath where it went onto the bunks on the trailer and a few other spots, and plenty of other dents that shouldn't have been dents. I didn't want to find out what it would look like after another 5 years.

I personally think that the G3 is a much higher quality boat. I had one and it was very well built. I have not owned a Crestliner, but have been around a bunch of them that came apart.
