Raptor 460

Postby Riverrat212 » Wed Mar 25, 2020 10:43 pm

Hey all, just wondering if anyone is running a raptor460 in their boat. What size of boat/bottom. What pump/impeller. I'm considering putting this motor in a 24foot, 7foot bottom boat with a ham212. Let me know some personal experiences with this motor. Thanks!

I’ve got a 23 ft. Riddle Marine with the Raptor 460, 6 ft. Bottom, 8 ft. beam with a Hamilton 212 with the turbo impeller. No issues, plenty of torque, at 3400 rpm she cruises around 36 mph. If I had to do it over again I wouldn’t change a thing. Hope this helps with the information you are seeking. :chicken:

I know some guy's running this combination in a 23 to 24' boat / 7' bottom. It runs very well. They run a 3.4 impeller. They have run the 4.0 too but like the 3.4 better.

Embarrassed to admit I don’t know if it is a 3.4 or 4.0, sorry I cannot answer your question.

Riverjohn, can you tell me what those people are cruising at with a normal load. Also what rpms are they spinning that pump when all out. Do any of them have gph numbers. Thanks

Anyone running the 440 in the application I'm looking at. Any benefits with the 460 over the 440? Not much difference between the 2 motors. Thanks all.

This might actually be the 440. They have only built this one because they are way to busy building large Alaskan Fishing boats. Here is their link.

I have 2 460 in a commercial boat that's 34 foot by 12 feet wide. They are matched up to 213 pumps with no transmission and 3.4 turbo impellers. Cruises at 29 to 33 at 3600 rpm. Top speed is 49 mph. Fuel burn is not bad but I am repowering with diesels this year to reduce my fuel burn. I will be selling the pair of 460s with 430 hours on them for 22k obo.

I've had them up to 4400 but I really never push the boat.
