FreBar boats by Fred Chrunyk

Postby ResidentEvil78 » Thu Jun 02, 2016 6:27 am

I purchased and old boat haul awhile back to build myself a river fishing boat, I sent out a few pictures during my build and I've been told that this haul was built by Fred when he ran FreBar boats out of Penhold, Ab. It's a 24' aluminum haul, steel bottom with vertical riviting. I however cannot find any FreBar boat pictures to compare. Any help would be great.

You may have one of the boats built by CCO Marine in Penhold /Red Deer.(Clements/Chrunyk/Owen) They often had Jacuzzi jets and Oldsmobile engines. They were built through the 70's.Brian Clements then went to Rocky Mountain House and built Clements Boats;Phil Owens went into real estate;and Fred started Frebar (Fred and Barb)Marine in Red Deer.Frebar built performance boats (Fred won the Mexican Rio Balsas race in 1977)and developed the style of race boats we still use today.
