Anyone ran this long section of the Missouri?

My dad and I are thinking about a trip this summer, not sure if I am gonna use the jet or my drift boat.

Anything to know? Cool spots?

I know most of the river is closed to motorized boat traffic in the summer. You'd have to check with the BLM office in Fort Benton for details.

Well that sucks, how far down the river from Ft Benton is closed?

I know guys run up from Fred Robinson bridge to hunt so where does it close at? We have gone up river in the summer from Ft Benton to Morony dam and the Big Eddy in powerboats?

Try this link. It is open @ Fort Benton and up stream. Just down stream there are restrictions.

There was a group on here from the site that did this run over a long weekend several years in a row. Lots of fun, great times and great fishing. Ran up from the bridge, had a fuel truck meet at the ramp in Fort Benton to refuel everyone. Might check the archives, probably still a few pics and threads from those trips. Had to get it in before the seasonal closures.

I remember when there was a boat that sunk at or near Big Eddy at least over 10 years ago. Guys were lucky to get out alive.

Yes we did trip several time.
Most the members are still here, Fun as all get out.
Some of the bigger boats would run up to Fort Benton every night and stay at the hotel.
149 miles one way, the last mile and a half is her worst part . Just off the FB boat ramp is all gravel and very shallow.
We would do it in three days but it is an easy two day trip one up and one down but we would stop and do a lot of picture taking and exploring.

My brother in law and I are wanting to get a group of boats to run this 150 mile section. He has a chat on FB. Sounds like there is some interest already. People are talking memorial Day weekend. Would be great to talk with some people that have made the run before. Logistics of fuel and camping would be great to here. Waiting to here from all interested!!

Anything that can be added from boats that have made this 150 mile run would be great. I think the biggest unknown is fuel consumption per hour. I am looking forward to this even thought it is flat water. Hanging out with Luther jet boats for a couple days is always fun.
