Let's go.

I will just leave this here and say I am shocked. I always thought it was a no go.

Let's make a plan.

:Drink: That just gave me a reason to build a mini. I have heard it being done, thought it was off limits, you may ask how far my Customweld has been up the Metolius river. not sure. if it happened or not. :chicken:

Years ago, probably around 2000, I ran from Clarno up to the Burnt Ranch rapid. Probably late May timeframe. Lots of rafters but a good run. Did it in a 19ft. Hewes with a sportjet. I often wonder what kind of looks id get on that section of river in the 22ft. Oakes? Realistically, Im always keeping my eye open for something like a 15-17ft tiller with an outboard to bomb around in on the John Day. Id love to backtroll up some steelies. Bob

So the way I read it is you can go as far upstream as your equipment and huevos will take you. I have drifted Clarno to Service Creek. There is nothing of concern in that stretch. I will go do it this spring and report the results. Get a bunch of minis running around on it and I imagine it won't be open long. Might as well get in on it while I can.
