I am going to be there by Tuesday the 30th and head back Sunday or Monday. Most will probably be getting there Thursday, Friday and leaving Sunday. Just an FYI of past Rogue Runs.

Looks like I will be down Wednesday through Sunday. I may extend one way or the other if the weather is nice enough.

Having never been on this river with my boat what kind of flows can be expected in early May? I am really excited about this trip and think I will actually come in a few days earlier, maybe Wednesday

Looks like the Median is 5 to 6000 CFS. With a low of 2500 to a high 10000 CFS for this time of year that we could reasonably expect. Our 2009 run was the lowest at 2820 CFS.

Myself, Cam and a few others used to go down that weekend every year. Sub 5000 was more common than higher water, but the last couple years it seems like all the rivers are averaging higher so who knows.

Actually it was usually a couple weeks prior, right around the 15th-2-th of April.

Do most boats have CB`s or UHF for communication?

Some of us have both. But VHF is what most have and that we use. I usually carry one hand held VHS in case someone does not have one.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I live in Idaho and spend most of my time in hells canyon and everyone runs CB'S but I figured this might be different down by the coast. I might take you up on that radio unless I pick one up somewhere. Thanks again.

My handheld does not have a headphone jack so it is kind of hard to hear when you are running. Something to think about.

I'll do it again. For those asking, the huge tour boats stop running above Agness at 1300 cfs. Granted, those skippers know the river perfectly, but those boats are really big and draw more water than your average 22 footer...

Went up past Foster Bar the other day to just above Watson Creek before I ran out of light. Also went up the Illinois to the closed boundary the same day. Good fun. Some guy on the bar at Oak Flats was yelling at me. Can't please everyone...

I will be coming from Idaho and I am curious if there are any permits required to run the rogue? Pretty excited to come and take part in this run.

No permits needed until May 15th. Exemption to this is Eagle 1 is required to obtain a Queening permit year round to enter the Rogue Canyon Corridor :Laugh1: :Drink: :Drink:

Just picked up a permit on e-bay for the canyon. It was only two years old.
