At anticipated flows, the Snake portion will be relatively flat either way. Running between the confluence and Pittsburg at 40K, I almost fell asleep one time (serious).

Do you need a permit to run the lower salmon if you launch at pine bar

The Lower Salmon is always self-issue permit only, the intent being solely to record use patterns. I've only noticed these permits available at Hammer Creek. I've only been to Pine Bar launch a couple of times and don't recall the permits being present. I wouldn't worry about it.

Where there's a will, there's a way. I'm confident a way will appear.

The stupid weather forecast keeps changing. A few days ago it was predicting low 60's in Idaho falls next week. But now it's back into the low 50's. So March 11 may not yet have noob flow. Which means maybe bump it out yet another week.

Or something.

Predicted flow on the 11th isn't great, and the 18th is likely to be even lower (given the weather forecast). So, wait and wait... Or maybe give up and just run Hells instead. Or something.

Marcn -- Are there definite official sources you can cite, or is this just a rumor? If official sources state that the launch is closed, they may be referring only to the launch facilities, and not to the ramp itself. If Pittsburg ramp is closed, there are other entry points.

This would be good info to have. Is Hells Gate launch open along with all the other ones in the Lewiston area. Pretty sure Heller is closed since it is in WA.
