Private mini, orange and yellow vinyl wrap. I heard he ran it a few times and then he powered out and it sunk.

Is it a mini or a bigger boat ? Black Creek looks like a rocky mess.

I heard from a friend yesterday that the boat was recovered. Salmon River Helicopter was able to pick it out of the river.

You got that right; probably the fuel spill liability part of the insurance kicking in.

Very fortunate it was caught on video; impressive chopper piloting.

How many people do you think actually pay for fuel spillage or any other kinds of fines

I don’t know anything about that particular boat but I do know that at least some (probably all) jet ski fuel systems (even older carbed versions) are a sealed system and designed to withstand being overturned and probably some submersion.

There is a check valve on the tank that allows air into the tank when running but will not allow fuel out. Venting while fueling is accomplished through the fill cap. I reused everything on my mini and the tank will pressure up on hot day until I open the fuel cap.

I don't know how many but it is not zero

Would guess any sealed up system will eventually leak when subjected to temperature swings whilst submerged, even seasonally.

When I was playing u-boat commander one of the conversations with the insurance company was all about fuel spill liability which is $870,000 for my boat. They asked if it was leaking; I said "not yet."
If we hadn't been able to get it off the river they had Columbia Helicopters lined up to get it done.
