Glenns Ferry

I have been fishing this stretch and have yet to catch a bass. Is there a secret or are they just not in that section?

I’ve fished all over there and come up empty on bass. Not sure what to make of it since smallmouth fishing is great just a few miles down river.

I fished there quite a bit @2005-7 and caught a few smallmouth on jigs and dark grubs with lead heads. Most below castle rock if I remember correctly and a couple around the eddy above pilgrim-ish. Haven’t caught any there the past few trips.

Thanks gents! The only thing we have caught there are squawfish. And we have caught a ton of them. Maybe they have eliminated the smallies.

Seems like there aren’t any in that area anymore, not sure why and yes lots of squaw. I’ve pulled some decent sized trout out of there using spinners in some of the Eddy’s below pegleg.

I've done a lot better for bass above peg leg in the shallow stuff. Big sturgeon up there too.

We have looked up there, but it sure didn't look like sturgeon habitat. Shallow and swift. Other than Idaho Power had a sturgeon study going on.

If you go a few hundred yards below the dam there is a massive hole there. Park on the south side. If Idaho power is doing a sturgeon study there, they must be there.

If there's a good Sturgeon hole up there I need to learn to run it!! Or drive down the road from the dam haha

There is lots of good sturgeon fishing below peg leg, we have caught probably 10 over 8 foot below, but we don’t fish above peg leg either.
