Finally finished, got the secondary bilge pump installed and just need to make one clamp for the reverse bucket cable and she is a complete boat. My wife and I have been enjoying this little boat a lot. She sure does run shallow and is tough as nails with the UHMW and all of the bottom floor bracing Bruce Cope designs into the boat, plus I fully welded all of them. Sure am glad I installed a stomp grate and sand trap. We have started to call her our little Pit Bull Terrier. I keep beating the shit out of her, but she just keeps coming back wagging her tail and asking for more LOL!

Friends taking her for a rip. Hopefully they get theirs done soon and some more get built this winter.

Little boat performed incredibly well on our Caribou hunt. We pinballed down through a major rock garden and a canyon with class 3 whitewater and hit many of the large boulders and she did not even receive one dent. Thanks for all of the bracing Cope designs into his boats and that UHMW is some tough stuff. She hauled out 2 caribou in 2 loads. A couple of more trips and we will be back to sled season.

Looks like fun Shawn. Did you guys make it up to Kon's cabin?

No luck on the moose for me, oh well...maybe next time.

Looked pretty wet down there and figured the river was blown out so we bailed. At least you were able to get out and look for Bullwinkle. To bad you did not live closer, we could have a big ole BBQ. Going back on Monday for some more hooked nose Coho's.

Sadly I had to prep little boat for winter and put her away for her long hibernation. It was nice to have one more beautiful day on the DCW slaying some more late season hooked nose Coho's and Grayling.

AK Explore,

I have sure enjoyed following this build, I just got my 11' Cope hull completed. Are you happy with the HP of the Yamaha? I was thinking of getting the 255 Rotax, but lower HP is seeming to be much more economical. Thoughts?

I wish I would have gotten a bigger HP engine. I went with the Yammy 110 on a recommendation from a friend who had built his and his sons with the 110. Lets just say that when I run with my buddies who one has the 220 HP Supercharged Yammy in his and the other has the 185 Supercharged Sea doo in his, they are always waiting for me. My sacrificial PWC was brand new so I like the dependability of it as we are running rivers deep into the AK wilderness. I have installed the cone style air intake that Glen at R&D racing hooked up for me and a Solas impeller that Dave at Impros Impellers pitched for me so the boat performs very well. It gets on step immediately and will get to low 40's MPH going down river and mid to high 30's MPH up river. She does like her petrol though, mostly because I have to be WOT to keep those speeds up. So with all that being said, I would go with the 255 Rotax if I was to build another one.

Had a great run across the Tanana yesterday. Little boat is running pretty good except that there is still lots of debris in the rivers and it keeps plugging up the grates on the intake. Sure am glad I put a stomp grate in. A few unedited clips of our run.

Had a great session chasing the toothy bastards on the fly with the little boat this hitch home from work. Also made a run on the Tanana between Tok and Delta, ran the skinniest water to date with little boat, pretty damn impressive. A buddy came along with his barge, the picture of him stuck out on a sand bar in the middle of the Tanana speaks for itself, LOL! Finally got a new vid cam, a couple of test vids here. I will have to invest in some good editing software to make something more interesting to watch other than just raw footage.

Finally purchased some quality video editing software for the new camera. I noticed the time stamp on the new camera, updated it and actually took it off the screen for future video.

Another great day out in the MINI.

Recommend watching on the big screen and with some good speakers.

Its fun taking stills and making vids. Sometimes everything lines up just right and you capture the moment as you saw it. Lots of beautiful things in the world to capture on film.
Little boat sure is one of them. LOL!

Another boring boating and fishing video. As always, best viewed on the big screen with the volume cranked.
