I wish I would have gotten a bigger HP engine. I went with the Yammy 110 on a recommendation from a friend who had built his and his sons with the 110. Lets just say that when I run with my buddies who one has the 220 HP Supercharged Yammy in his and the other has the 185 Supercharged Sea doo in his, they are always waiting for me. My sacrificial PWC was brand new so I like the dependability of it as we are running rivers deep into the AK wilderness. I have installed the cone style air intake that Glen at R&D racing hooked up for me and a Solas impeller that Dave at Impros Impellers pitched for me so the boat performs very well. It gets on step immediately and will get to low 40's MPH going down river and mid to high 30's MPH up river. She does like her petrol though, mostly because I have to be WOT to keep those speeds up. So with all that being said, I would go with the 255 Rotax if I was to build another one.
I have sure enjoyed following this build, I just got my 11' Cope hull completed. Are you happy with the HP of the Yamaha? I was thinking of getting the 255 Rotax, but lower HP is seeming to be much more economical. Thoughts?
