Hello
Has anyone had any experience with a 22ft tunnel jet with a 150 outboard jet on it? Trying to decide between this set up or an inboard seaark predator. Its a big purchase so I want to make sure I am happy.

Had a 2072 last year. No tunnel! 200 Mercury jet
Using the big pump. S200p I really liked it! Was very surprised how quick it got on plane. Held on plane at lower speeds. There tunnel is not that big so don't think
it would effect it much. I bought the bare hull and added
Forward console. Extended front deck about 18"

unless you just really need a tunnel I wouldn't get a tunnel.

Thank you for the replies. What was the top speed you got out of it with the 200 on it. Don't need a race boat but I also don't want a total slug bug. lol

Right at 39-40 But got up super quick. I was really surprised. About the tunnel there tunnel is not real tall so don't think you will have the intake as high as some other boats. But if you buy the 2272 mv. You have to raise the transom or use a plate. I used a 3" setback Jack plate with no issues. Also with tunnel you will probably want some fins on your intake.

My questions are:
Where do you plan on running your boat? Alaska? Missouri?
What kind of water do you run? Gravel/sand/rock bottoms? Mud? Snake river?
What do you plan on doing with your boat? Hauling cabin materials? Just weekend fishing? Long haul hunting trips? Both?
Each boat that you mentioned both have a place...
I've had experience with both models mentioned. They both worked great, but for where they were used and for what they were specifically used for..
