912 & LT4

So here is a picture of the first LT4 from Marine Power that has been installed into a jet boat. Thanks to Eric @ Wetever Jet Boat Repair & Eddie from Marine Power, Schlagel Marine & Motorsports was invited to do some testing with that engine coupled to our 912 jet pump in a 24 Ft. HCM. Rated at 650 HP there is no question the LT4 has more power than an LSA as it was able to spin a LSA impeller/nozzle combination coming out of the hole. A quick look at the numbers from Konrad Scott the jet pump design engineer and he has a good handle on what to do to make this an awesome working combination.

Nice Jeff!! Is Konrad setting the LT4 up with a new impeller stack, or putting in smaller nozzle insert?

Hi Mike, We haven't made a decision just yet. We have some combinations that we will need to test before we will know exactly.
We will try further testing on the LSA/575 combo as well as a slightly different impeller stack.
We were pretty happy about how close we were to meeting the mark with the 912 with a setup that wasn't made for the LT4!. By all accounts the Marine Power people we pretty impressed about how well the 912 went with theLT4.

Cheers

Thanks for the info Jeff. I was just curious if there was an impeller stack available for the LT4, that might absorb more TQ at lower RPMs than the 19s/19p... the diesel folks might be interested in it ;)
