American Turbine test Indmar's 2.3l FORD EcoBoost

Postby ATM » Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:25 pm

We thrashed that little engine for a week and a half, it never resisted just kept asking for more. The lighter weight of the engine completely changed how the boat handles, so much more responsive to steering input. The boat will easily get up on plane at 3000 RPM's with two aboard. The engine sips fuel like no ever engine that has been coupled to a jet.
See the attachment below for test results with the SD309, SD312, and SD203.

Ron,
Whats the horsepower absorption of an A impeller at 4300 rpms? I'm too lazy to look it up. :-D That has to be close to mpi 5.7 numbers.

3228# for one of your questions.

Impressive performance numbers. The 203/2.3L looks like a great combo for my future rock basher.

Nice numbers. Damn good fuel burn. That would be a nice setup with an 18 foot shallow water boat. I'd like to see a firefish piranha or the like.

The "A" impeller absorbs 284.46 hp at 4300 RPM's, the EcoBoost pulled the "A" 4395 RPM's = 303.73 hp.
