312 with 6.2 DI

Postby customweld-1 » Mon Jun 06, 2016 3:41 pm

If any one is interested in a test drive!!! I have a 22 ft storm with American Turbine 312 and there new impeller for the DI 6.2L .. This boat is super impressive, we had 9 people in it and it stayed on plane at 2990 RPM.. The boat also did Apx 50 MPH... Its a awesome set up. I would have to say the AT pump held the 6.2 DI better than the 212 hamilton from a dead stop to full throttle. its hard to believe so come drive it and see for yourself!!!!

Will this work for the 5.7 motor? I have a 20' with the 312 and was thinking about going with the 212! But if the Impellar would work that good I might change my mind!!

Impellers are sized to match your HP curve, if you use the impeller cut for the 6.2DI, your 5.7 will be a big time dog...

If I'm reading this correctly you're saying the 6.2 can blow out the 212/3.4 combo out of the hole? And it looks like you're running 4400 rpm's with the grey and just over 4000 with the white... If so, wouldn't the white impeller be more like a 4.0 than a 3.4?

Are you able to tune the 312 impellor by trimming the tail of the blades. I have not had much to do with American turbine, but with the 212 cost and shortcomings I think it is time to give them a try. The tried and true multi stage pumps have been the main stay of my jet boating since 1975 but I am truly getting tired of the noise. the 312 sd has a good looking reverse and looks like it will take kiwi steering without much difficulty, so it is time to part with some cash and try a brand new pump in a boat for a change. And to boot it would be nice to play with a pump that does not hit the speed wall so soon.

Any vids of this boat running? It would save me a whole lot of money if I didn't have to swap pumps when if i do a motor swap.

Just curious if that 50mph was with 9 people or a lighter load. Impressive if it had 9 people!
